The Astoria Fishermen came fell 57-6 to the Scappoose Indians on Friday night in Scappoose in Cowapa League action. The loss was the second straight for the Fishermen as they finished 3-2 in Cowapa League play.

The Indians executed flawlessly all night long as they cruised to a 50-0 lead at halftime. Senior WR Paul Revis ran for two touchdowns, caught a touchdown pass, threw a touchdown pass and returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown to power Scappoose.

The Fishermen scored their lone touchdown in third quarter as Senior QB Jeramy Poyer crossed the goalline on a 10-yard run.

The Fishermen travel to Klamath Falls to play Klamath Union this Saturday in regional playoff action.

The Astoria Fishermen came up short on a drive late in the fourth quarter as they fell 26-20 to the Banks Braves on Friday night at John Warren Field in Cowapa League action. The loss ended the Fishermen’s three game winning streak and dropped them to 3-1 in Cowapa League play.

Senior QB Jeramy Poyer led the way for the Fishermen, throwing for 99 yards and two scores. Senior RB Wyatt Wullger added 94 tough yards on the ground on 24 carries. Junior WR Nick Strange and junior WR Chris Leonardi each had a receiving touchdown for Astoria.

The Fishermen fell down 20-6 early, but tied the game on an eight yard TD run by Wullger just before halftime and a leading TD catch in the endzone by Leonardi in the third quarter.

The Braves however retook the lead for good on a four yard run by Dakota Kemper with just under six minutes to go in the contest.

Astoria had a chance to try to win the game on a late drive, but Neal Olson came up with a victory sealing interception for Banks to end Fishermen hopes.

The Fishermen travel to Scappoose this Friday night in the regular season finale.
