Pacific County Sheriff Scott Johnson announced changes to the Sheriff's Office command staff including a retirement, promotion, and new appointment. A Clatsop County Drug Task Force investigation has led to the arrest of 27-year-old Dustin William Taylor , on drug related charges Saturday morning. Drug Task Force detectives with the assistance of Clatsop County Sheriff's Deputies executed search warrants on Taylor and his residence located at 33788 Cullaby Lake Lane Warrenton, Oregon.

Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into a serious injury pedestrian-involved traffic crash that occurred Thursday afternoon on Highway 101 about four miles north of Gearhart in Clatsop County.

The State Employment Department reported Monday morning that the Clatsop County unemployment rate is down to 6.3%. That compares to 7.5% the year before and is below the current statewide rate of 7.3% and below the national rate now pegged at 7%.
The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Alert, a 210-foot medium endurance cutter, returned to their homeport of Astoria following an 81-day deployment,Friday. The cutter and crew covered more than 12,000 miles during their deployment that included a counter drug enforcement patrol in the Eastern Pacific and a rigorous training assessment by the Afloat Training Group in Everett, Wash.
