Sunday morning at approximately 11:20 a.m. Seaside Police responded to Radio Shack after a male subject had stolen a Kindle Fire from a display case. Employees of the store said there were four people who entered the store and while dealing with two of the people, the suspect grabbed the Kindle Fire and put it under his shirt leaving the store. When the information was provided to other officers, one of them remembered seeing four people in a white Pontiac not far from the theft.

The Washington State Patrol is asking the public's help in providing information on the events leading up to a two car injury, hit and run collision that occurred on November 30th , 2012. The collision occurred at 1:53 p.m. on Friday, November 30, on State Route 12 westbound at mile post 20 prior to the 3rd St. off ramp. Victim vehicle was a Gray 2003 Dodge Caravan.

Gov. John Kitzhaber says he's calling the Oregon Legislature into session next week to pass a special tax break for large Oregon businesses with Nike mentioned as one of those that could otherwise leave the state instead of expanding in Oregon.

Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into Sunday morning's minor injury crash involving a loaded log truck and a passenger vehicle on Highway 105 (Alternate Highway 101) south of Astoria near Wireless Road. The crash closed the road for about 3 hours until the scene was cleared.

(AP) — The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission voted Friday to ban the use of gillnets to catch fish on the main stem of the Columbia River, relegating the primary commercial-fishing tool to side channels and tributaries.  Washington's fish commission was scheduled to decide soon on similar rules, eliminating the centuries-old practice from both sides of the river.  The gillnet ban was pushed by Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber, who hopes to mediate a longstanding conflict between commercial and recreational fishers while transitioning to new methods of commercial fishing. Recreational fishers say gillnets are harmful to the recovery of endangered salmon.

FBI Agents in Oregon have received information from the FBI's Anchorage Division that narrows the search for a woman who was allegedly raped by accused serial killer Israel Keyes. Keyes committed suicide while in jail this past weekend as he awaited trial for the murder of a barista, Samantha Koenig, last February in Anchorage.
