At approximately 2:24 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, Seaside Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire at 412 N. Holladay in Seaside. The single-family structure had smoke billowing from the southwest portion of the home when crews arrived on scene.
The lone occupant, Robert Boucher, and his pet dog had left the house to run an errand shortly before the fire started. A short time later, a passing motorist noticed smoke coming from the home and called 911. A few homes and apartments in the immediate area were evacuated although none appear to have sustained damage. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation but it is not believed to be suspicious.
Seaside Fire and Rescue has been supported by crews from Cannon Beach Fire & Rescue and the Gearhart Volunteer Fire Department. Hamlet Fire District provided support for agency relief.
