The Coast Guard Sector Columbia River command invites the public to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its newly installed HU-25 Falcon jet display at Sector Columbia River, next to Astoria Regional Airport in Warrenton, at 2 p.m., Friday.

The aircraft will be open for tours from 2-4 p.m.

Sector Columbia River and Tongue Point Job Corps leadership personnel will attend the ceremony. The ceremony will honor the partnerships between Sector Columbia River and Tongue Point Job Corps and highlight the history of Coast Guard aviation at Air Station Astoria.

The HU-25 is displayed on a 76-foot diameter concrete pad constructed by students from the Tongue Point Job Corps Center over the last several months.

HU-25 Falcons were based out of Air Station Astoria from 1983-1995. This particular aircraft, CG 2104, was retired at Air Station Cape Cod, Massachusetts, in June 2013 and arrived at Air Station Astoria shortly thereafter. The unveiling ceremony will showcase the jet on permanent display.
