 Authorities now say Highway 26 is closed indefinitely after a very large accident involving up to as many as 12 vehicles including a tanker truck. When emergency crews arrived shortly after 9:15 this morning they reported two vehicles on fire. A local Hazmat team has responded.  3 ambulances on scene had to wait for the fires to be put out before moving in and there are reports of 6 injuries thus far. Intital responding departments included  Elsie, Banks, Seaside, and Hamlet. Oregon State Police are also on the scene conducting the investigation into the cause of the crash, or crashes.  The accident happened at milepost 24 at Quartz Creek .  Police urge people to avoid the area and a detour route has been set up using highway 47 and highway 201.
