On March 1 2014 Astoria Police responded to a reported hit and run near the intersection of Olney and West Marine Drive. The suspect vehicle was reported to have continued traveling south on Highway 105 across the Old Young's Bay Bridge. Police found three vehicles with substantial damage parked near the apartments at 1400 Marine Drive. Based on witness descriptions and parts left behind at the scene Police were able to develop a good description of the suspect vehicle.
At 2:21 PM Clatsop County Sheriff's Sergeant Schroeder located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle. Schroeder was at 35198 Lyngstad Heights Lane conducting a welfare check on Denise Galeotti. Galeotti, age 55, was contacted later in the evening at her residence on Lyngstad Heights Lane. Police were able to confirm that Galeotti was the driver of the vehicle at the time it struck the other vehicles. Galeotti was cited and released for Criminal Mischief I, Reckless Driving and Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver.
Also on Saturday, Astoria Police Officers responded to a report of a fight involving a knife at 11th and Commercial. On arrival, they contacted the victim, Kenneth McGregor, age 40, of Astoria. McGreggor had a cut to his hand. McGreggor identified the person he had been fighting with as James Hahn, age 37, of Astoria. McGreggor said that he had been approached by Hahn who was demanding money that he owed.
During the confrontation the two began fighting, Hahn pulled a knife and cut McGreggor. Hahn was located nearby and arrested for Attempted Robbery I, Assault II, and Disorderly Conduct II. McGreggor was taken to CMH, treated and released.
