Early Friday morning, Seaside Police Officers responded to Twisted Fish on a report that a waitress had been given Methamphetamine as a tip while a customer was paying for some drinks. The waitress identified two people who paid for their drink order and with the payment was a envelope containing a crystal like substance. The officer recognized the substance based on his training and experience as methamphetamine. Officers arrested Ryan L. Bensen, age 40 from Beaverton and Erica A. Manley age 37 from Cascade Locks at the scene. A search of Manley's purse following her arrest revealed a large quantity of methamphetamine.
Officers were also able to identify their vehicle and the motel they where they staying. Search Warrants were obtained and search was conducted of the hotel room and vehicle. During those searches, additional quantities of suspected Methamphetamine were found along with other items linking them to the manufacturing with intent to deliver Methamphetamine. All evidence seized will be forwarded to the State Crime Lab for analysis.
Ryan Bensen was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Manufacture of Methamphetamine. Erica Manley was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Manufacture of Methamphetamine, and Delivery of Methamphetamine. Both were transported to the Clatsop County Jail awaiting arraignment and formal charges.
