The Sunset Empire Transit District, now renamed Sunset Transportation Services, continues to grow it's service with the announcement Friday of more frequent trips up highway 30 and the addition of direct service to Kelso/Longview on weekends starting in January.
"We are very excited to announce that we have increased our weekday Monday through Friday service to Westport and Clatskanie, with connections to Longview/Kelso via the CC Rider, from one to three times a day through a new intercity grant from ODOT. Additionally, we have direct weekend service to Longview/Kelso on Saturdays and Sundays two times each day." says Jay Flint, Executive Director. Flint added "Our staff is very excited to offer this new intercity service to Cowlitz County that includes stops at Walmart, the Longview Transit Center and the Amtrak/Greyhound station in Kelso." The fare for a one-way trip to Cowlitz County at $8, and a round trip at $15.
Additionally, Sunset Transit continues it's canned food drive through December 24th. SETD will be accepting one can of food as bus fare for one ride on any fixed route bus in Clatsop County.
1 CAN FOOD = 1 RIDE
