An investigation by the Clatsop County Drug Task Force concluded in Warrenton Monday afternoon with the arrest of 51-year-old Eugene Franklin Kelly of Warrenton on firearm and methamphetamine related charges. After receiving multiple complaints over the course of several months involving Kelly's distribution of methamphetamine and related activities, detectives were able to complete an investigation and obtain search warrants for Kelly, his vehicle and residence located at 1416 SE 12th Place Warrenton Oregon. Kelly had previously been the focus of a Clatsop County Drug Task Force methamphetamine distribution investigation in 2000.
Drug Task Force detectives were able to locate Kelly in the Jeffers Gardens area in the process of what detectives believed to be delivering methamphetamine. Detectives with the assistance of Clatsop County Deputies were able contact Kelly and seize multiple baggies of methamphetamine packaged for sale. Detectives, then with the assistance of Clatsop County Sheriff Deputies and a Warrenton Police Officer executed a search warrant on Kelly's residence located at 1416 SE 12th Place Warrenton Oregon. At the residence, detectives located methamphetamine, scales, packaging material in the form of baggies and a .22 caliber semiautomatic handgun.
Kelly was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine, Delivery of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Kelly was lodged at the Clatsop County Jail and later released after posting bail.
