During the month of September, Bank of the Pacific , along with the media support of the Ohana Media Group's KCRX 102.3 FM The Classic Rock station partnered with the students of the Seaside High School in a food drive to benefit the South County Food Bank.

During the drive the Students brought in 780 pounds of food which was added to the Community food drive promoted by Bank of the Pacific which brought in 308 pounds for a total of 1008 pounds of food. Cash was also raised during the event. Bank of the Pacific offered the High School Class that brought in the highest poundage of food a cash prize of $200 to use as they saw fit. The SHS Junior Class won the contest and generously donated the money back to the South County Food Bank. The Seaside Students then matched the $200 prize with their own $200 donation to the South County Food Bank.

In addition to the prize money and matched money, Bank of the Pacific donated $250 to the Food Bank during the drive as well as raising $134.08 from a bake sale at the Seaside Branch. $115.00 was also collected from shoppers during the Live Radio remote at the Seaside Safeway grocery store. In total, $899.09 in cash was given to the South County Food Bank.

"We all had a really great time doing this food drive and one of our goals this year is to be more involved with our local community. We gave the money back to the food bank because it was the right thing to do." Calvin Pollard Seaside High ASB Event Coordinator.
