Saturday night Astoria Police responded to reports of tires being slashed. Near the Merrytime Tavern, 995 Marine Drive, they found 6 vehicles with at least one tire slashed. A third party report indicated that a female pushing a shopping cart was responsible. Another six vehicles were located between 6th and 10th in the area of Marine drive. While Officer Gillum was responding to additional calls of tires being slashed Officer Hansen located a female pushing a shopping cart. Because they still did not have a named witness to identify the female Officers released the suspect after identifying her. When Officer Gillum contacted witnesses related to another three vehicles near McDonalds, 645 Marine Drive, he found a witness who identified the person Hansen had been out with as the suspect. With a named witness Sergeant Aydt arrested Rayna M. Blackburn, a 44 year old Astoria Woman.
While at the jail they located additional vehicles that had tires cut. In total Astoria Police. Blackburn was captured on video vandalizing the vehicles in the County Sheriff's Parking lot. In total Astoria Police located over 20 cars with approximately 25 tires damaged. Blackburn was lodged at the Clatsop County Jail on 5 counts of Criminal Mischief 1.
