Provider Steve Bellinger, PA-C. and Deanna Duret, Dietician will discuss pre-diabetes and a nutritional approach to correction at this year's health fair at Ocean Beach Hospital Health Fair in Ilwaco on Saturday, September 14th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Duret and Bellinger will share the latest protocols for treating diabetes during a question and answer presentations at the annual health forum. The fair will also feature free lab screenings for diabetes, cholesterol and prostate cancer and many community participants.
The annual health fair is a way to say "thank you" to the community and offer an opportunity for educational information, as well as to learn what services are available locally. It's a way to focus on prevention and encourage individuals to make healthy lifestyle choices. The free screenings are method of increasing community interest, and providing as much opportunity as possible for individuals to benefit from this event.
Nearly 20 health and safety organizations will take part in the fair, including Life Flight, DaVita, Coastal Eye Care, Peninsula Pharmacies, Pacific County Fire District One, Avada Audiology and Hearing, Crisis Support Network, and, Child Safety Fingerprinting. The Life Flight helicopter, a popular attraction, is scheduled to make an appearance at approximately 10:30 a.m.
The hospital's diabetes education team will also be at the health fair, providing screening, education and nutrition information.
