The search, now in day three, is intensifying to locate Ryan Ross Horn, a 28 year old Hillsboro man, who is considered to be anendangered person. Hillsboro police are leading the multi-county investigation and an air search is being launched to cover additional territory. Ryan Horn left Hillsboro on Thursday, August 28, 2013 around 10 am and is believed to have headed west on Highway 26. His last cell phone "ping" occurred at the Lodge Road T-Mobile Tower near Banks, Oregon.
"We know that many people will be out and about the area over the holiday weekend and we ask that you please be alert for any signs of our beloved son and family member and immediately report information by calling 911," stated Michele Haynes, mother of Horn.
Horn suffers from bipolar disorder and was recently depressed over a series of life situations. He was under a doctor's care for his medical condition, but is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol and prescription pills at the time of his departure. Horn did not take identification with him and it is believed that he took a firearm.
Horn is 5'11" and weighs 185 pounds. He has dark brown recently "buzzed" hair, blue eyes and he is clean shaven. He left wearing dark jeans and a dark gray hooded sweatshirt. He was driving a 2002 dark red Ford Ranger pickup, Oregon plates 806 FFR.
"We have launched a Facebook site to keep his hundreds of concerned family members, friends and colleagues updated with the latest information," said Jessica Bledsoe, sister of Horn. "If you have the time to assist, our family would be grateful from the bottom of our hearts. We especially ask hikers, birdwatchers, campers, hunters or any one else out there in Washington, Columbia and Clatskanie Counties to be on the lookout for Ryan and call 911."
With the holiday weekend, the police and his family are hoping that the community will step up their vigilance and keep their eyes out for any sign of Horn or his truck. If you do see his truck, police are asking that you immediately call 911.
