Seaside High School announces registration for students who are New-to-Seaside School District will take place as follows: August 19-22 from 8:30to 3 and August 23 from 8:30 to 2. Please call the high school at 503.738.5586 to schedule an appointment with the counselors. New students should bring a birth certificate, immunization records and transcript and other documents from their previous school.
Returning students (including incoming freshmen from Broadway Middle School) register on August 29th as follows:
Seniors: 10 am to 11 am
Juniors: 11 am to Noon
Sophomores: Noon to 1 pm
Freshmen: 1 pm to 2 pm
The high school has mailed the registration and enrollment packet home. Students MUST bring these completed forms with them on registration day, along with the required $25 Activities Fee. School portraits will also be taken on registration day and students should bring payment for those as well. ALL students, including seniors, must have their picture taken, regardless of whether or not a student is purchasing a picture package.
The Seaside High School athletic department has scheduled a mandatory meeting for ALL 2013-2014 athletes and their parents/guardians onThursday, August 15th, at 7 pm in the gymnasium. The athletic office will open on August 12th to accept paperwork and fees. Daily doubles begin on August 19th. Please contact the Athletic Director, Jason Boyd, for further information. He may be contacted at the high school beginning August 12th.
New students and freshmen begin school on Tuesday, Sept. 3th for orientation. SHS is proud to offer our new students a service called Link Crew, which links our freshmen with our upper class students who help them make the transition to high school smoother and more productive. Our faculty will be linking up with our new SHS students through active participation. Buses will run as usual that day to ensure 100% participation. Check the school district website (www.seaside.k12.or.us) for bus schedules (one week prior to the start of school).
SHS will host an Open House on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd. There will be a special session for freshmen and new students and their parents at 6:00pm.; meet the teachers in their classrooms beginning at 6:30 pm; choir students and parents are invited to a presentation by our new choir director, Ms. Unger, at 7 pm and then we wind the evening up with an ice cream social at 7:15 pm. This is a great opportunity to receive information about SHS.
