Clatsop Economic Development Resources in cooperation with Clatsop Community College and the Oregon Governor's office is bringing a seminar and networking opportunity back to the North Coast that last year had a positive effect on local businesses that met certification standards attracting contract work.

The Office of Economic & Business Equity for Governor John A. Kitzhaber M.D. will be conducting a "roadshow" with ten state agencies and private sector partners in Astoria on Thursday, August 1st, at Clatsop Community College's Main Campus in Astoria. Location: Columbia Hall Room 219. Hosting the session will be the CEDR/Clatsop Community College Small Business Development Center.  The Roadshow is travelling to cities throughout the state providing opportunities for local small businesses to meet directly with procurement professionals from state, federal, private and non-profit organizations who will share tips, tools, resources and strategies to aid in your business's growth as well as how to better navigate their contracting process and effectively connect and nurture ongoing relationships.

CEDR Executive Director Kevin Leahy told KAST news that last year's "roadshow" event had positive results saying,  "At the SDDA meeting in Seaside last Thursday, Gretchen Darnell, Director of Sales for the Seaside Convention Center, said she had very positive experiences with this from businesses that had participated in prior roadshows that were able to bid on some contracts because of the certification, and that she herself was planning to attend the session."
