As the State of Oregon transitions to the Early Learning Council with a focus on kindergarten readiness and educational success, school districts also face new core standards to meet education outcomes.

Counties are also preparing to meet the needs of children at an early start, and through community collaboration are working to align their standards to a Preschool-3rd (P3) grade system.

Linda Sullivan-Dudzic and Donna K. Hearns, authors of "Making a Difference: 10 Essential Steps to Building a PreK-3 System," will provide free training June 26 and 27 at the Shilo Inn in Seaside.

The program addresses standards, assessment and instruction, shared resources and sustainability and leadership.
