The City will host three Neighborhood Meetings for the Astoria Transportation System Plan (TSP)Update to provide an opportunity for community members to learn about the TSP update and give feedback aboutthe project
and possible solutions to current and future transportation issues in Astoria. The meetings will focus onimprovements proposed for the specific neighborhoods and will be held as follows:Uniontown/West Marine/Bond Street Neighborhood - Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. atthe Liberty Theater, McTavish Room (1203 Commercial Street). Proposed alterations include lanereconfiguration on West Marine and return Bond Street to two way traffic.Downtown Neighborhood - Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Liberty Theater,McTavish Room (1203 Commercial Street). Proposed alterations include conversion of one-way to two-waystreets in the downtown area.Niagara/7th/Olney Avenue Neighborhood - Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the City HallCouncil Chambers (1095 Duane Street). Proposed alterations include reduction in lane widths / installationof pedestrian improvements on Niagara Avenue and 7th Street, and reconfiguration of traffic on OlneyAvenue.The City's updated Transportation System Plan will guide improvements to roads, trails, and other transportationfacilities over the next 20 years. At the meeting, participants will have the opportunity to visit display stations wherethey can learn more about specific topics, ask questions, and share ideas
