Beginning today the Oregon Insurance Division will be holding public hearings on rates proposed by health insurance companies doing business in the State. The plans under discussion cover individuals and small groups which traditionally charge higher premiums than those applied to large groups.

These plans are designed to take into account changes mandated by the affordable care act which is designed to increase coverage of treatments despite pre-existing conditions. premiums are expected to change the most for people who buy their own insurance and are not covered by medicare.
