The AAA auto club reports the average price of a gallon of gasoline in Oregon is $3.97 going into the Memorial Day weekend. Washington averages $4.

 

That's the same price as a week ago but 35 cents higher than a month ago. It's 32 cents higher than the national average but 24 cents lower than the price a year ago in Oregon.

Here are some metro prices from the AAA's Friday survey: Portland $3.97, Salem $3.94, Eugene-Springfield $3.99 and Medford-Ashland $3.99. The average price of a gallon of gasoline in Washington is $4, heading into the Memorial Day weekend.

That's up 2 cents in a week and 34 cents in a month. It's 35 cents higher than the national average and 24 cents higher than the price of gasoline in Washington a year ago.
