Wednesday night the Astoria School Board voted down the proposed school based health center. It was voted down 3 to 2. Board members who voted no on the motion included Martin Dursse, Jeanette Sampson and Shawn Helligso. Those who voted yes on the School health center included Laurie Choate and Brad Pope. Coastal Family Health Center would have been the primary medical provider.

The feasibility study has lasted nearly the entire school year. The centers would have provided lab services, screenings, preventative health, primary care, mental health services and much more including educational material and counseling.
