Long Beach Loyalty Days remains a popular draw for both locals and visitors especially the Sunday parade which enjoyed some great participation with the beautiful weather and unseasonably warm temperatures on the Peninsula.

Each year the Loyalty Days Committee works out all the details including finding just the right person to play a famous character in American history who acts as a keynote speaker in the prelude to the Loyalty Days Parade.  This year an actor named Sam Goodyear played the role of President John Adams in addressing the crowd.  Spectators then enjoyed a parade dedicated to patriotism with marching bands and classic cars along with entries from various area business and service groups with a special salute to veterans. The Astoria Regatta Association won the grand sweepstakes award at the Loyalty Days Parade in Long Beach on Sunday which the association says is the parades top honor! The 2013 Regatta court showed their enthusiasm and energy during this first parade of the season showcasing the Astoria Regatta, the oldest festival celebration in the state of Oregon.
This year's Regatta will be held from Wednesday, August 7th – Sunday, August 11th, with the theme: "A River Runs to it".

Loyalty Days also encompasses the Saturday annual Ilwaco Blessing Of The Fleet which also recognizes those who have lost their lives at sea.
