Summer Conference is an opportunity for youth grades 7-12 to travel to Corvallis, explore campus life, make new friends, learn, and have a lot of fun. While there, participants attend workshops on a wide variety of subjects. Over 80 classes are offered including: Anatomy of the heart and eye, balloon sculpturing, rock climbing, dance classes, dog agility, various cooking, craft and art classes, and western action shooting, just to name a few.
In addition to attending workshops, participants will hear a nationally acclaimed speaker, participate in a Community Service project, and enjoy many fun activities such as a pool party, bowling, and dance.
Members arrive on campus early Wednesday afternoon, either through their own transportation or on the summer conference charter buses, then stay in a campus dorm and eat at a dining hall. The conference is capped off with a closing program Saturday morning where new state ambassadors and national congress delegates are announced.
The cost is $200 for registration and $20.00 for the bus fee. 4-H members will get a scholarship from the 4-H Leaders Association to help cover their registration fee. There is also an additional $50.00 scholarship available to "first time" 4-H members. Registration will be open May 1 and end May 22.
