Work in Downtown Astoria on the latest phase of the multi-year, multi-million dollar sewer separation CSO project is on schedule according to the city.  Street work to place new storm water pipes  and rebuild streets and sidewalks continues with additional areas under construction next week.

Crews will continue work within the 8th St and Commercial intersection. That intersection is expected to be open to traffic on Monday, April 22nd. The city says pavement removal and utility installation will begin on 8th Street between Commercial and Duane this coming Monday. The intersection of 8th and Duane will be open to traffic during this work. Storm pipe installation on 10th Street between Duane and Exchange, and on Exchange between 9th and 10th Streets will be taking place with storm pipe installation may begin on 10th Street between Irving and Jerome towards the end of the week.
