Board members of nonprofit organizations and their advisors are invited to participate in "Nonprofit Organization Board Training" being presented on Saturday, May 11, 2013 - at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites in Astoria, Oregon.
This popular nonprofit board training event begins at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm. Practical workshops are being presented by the IRS Tax Exempt Division, Oregon Department of Justice along with other leading nonprofit specialists.
The event's keynote, "The IRS and You," is being presented by Joe Kroll, IRS Audit Manager. The day features a variety of timely workshops including: Attorney General's Guidance on Board Service; Succession Planning; Positioning Your Organization to be Grant Smart; Working with the Challenging Board Member; Financial Policies; New Board Member Training; Accepting Charitable Contributions; and, Tools for Getting Unstuck.
