A prank on an intoxicated 15 year-old backfired at an underage drinking party and led to thirty-eight (38) minors being cited for Minor in Possession of Liquor. Officers responded to a report of a young girl trapped in a bathroom with a black eye in the 1200 block of S. Columbia. Officers arrived to find an underage drinking party and the female who was intoxicated did not have a black eye and had been locked in a closet as a prank.
Officers conducted a controlled party dispersal citing ten (10) minors and twenty-eight (28) juveniles for Minor in Possession of Liquor. The minors were issued citations while the parent or guardian of the juveniles were contacted and face MIP charges through their respective Juvenile Courts. None of those cited live in Clatsop County with most living in the Portland area.
According to Seaside Police Chief Bob Gross "This is the largest party we have uncovered where we were able to conduct a controlled party dispersal and cite everyone involved". Seaside Police has a zero tolerance policy for underage drinking.
