Clatsop County's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 7.5 percent in January, essentially the same as the previous month (7.4%) and the year before (7.7%). It was lower than the statewide rate (8.4%) and about the
same as the national rate (7.9%). Total employment in the county decreased by 568 from the previous month to 18,148. The estimated number of unemployed people rose by 183 to 1,770. The number of unemployed this January was 93 fewer than one year before
and 27 more people were employed, yielding a total drop in the labor force of 66.

Columbia County's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 9.3 percent in January, essentially unchanged from the previous month (9.0%) and the year before (9.6%). The rate was higher than the statewide rate (8.4%) and the national
rate (7.9%). Total employment fell by 353 to 21,525 and the number of unemployed people jumped by 358 to 2,530. Total employment this January was 193 less than one year before and there were 39 fewer people unemployed this year,
yielding a total drop in the labor force of 232.

Tillamook County's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 8.0 percent in January, the same as the previous month (8.0%) and the year before (8.1%). It was about the same as the statewide rate (8.4%), and the national rate (7.9%). Total
employment in the county fell by 67 from the previous month to 11,174 and the estimated number of people unemployed climbed by 161 to 1,167. Compared with one year before, total employment rose by 99, but 19 fewer people were unemployed, yielding a total increase in
the labor force of 80.

Lincoln County's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 8.7 percent in January, unchanged from the previous month (8.7%), but down from the year before (9.2%). The unemployment rate for Lincoln County was about the same as the statewide rate (8.4%), but higher
than the national rate (7.9%). Total employment dropped by 437 to 19,650 and the estimated number of people unemployed rose by 275 to 2,251. Total employment was 40 less than one year before, and the number of people unemployed fell by 171 over the year, yielding a
total drop in the labor force of 211.
