Ten Clatsop County youth recently joined 50 other youth from around the state at the WORLD (Western Oregon Regional Leadership Development Retreat). The youth went to classes that taught photography, outdoor survival skills, creative writing, Olympic games, journal making, debate, energizers, livestock basics, swing and line dance, and skits. Dale Sydnam, Rachel Lertora and Jaysea Williams from Clatsop County were on the Governing Board who helped plan and organize the multi-county event. The community service project focused on the homeless, which included an informational speaker and the members made 100 care bags of items such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc. for the homeless.

4-H is an OSU program that offers its programs equally to all people in grades K-12. For more information about 4-H membership or 4-H leadership, call the Clatsop County Extension office at 503-325-8573.
