Early Thursday morning at 4:08 a.m., Astoria dispatch received a 911 call from a man claiming to have shot his mother. Clatsop County Deputies responded to a residence on Norland McCoy Road just off Hwy 202. Upon arrival, the 3 deputies were met by 26 year old Brian Mathew Hall  outside the residence who was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies located 57 year old Delores Hall in the home with a serious gunshot wound to her torso. Hall was conscious but in serious condition. Medix transported her to Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria where she was stabilized and taken to Portland for further care.
The Clatsop County Major Crime team was called out which consists of The Seaside, Cannon Beach, Warrenton and Astoria Police Departments along with Detectives from The Oregon State Police and the Clatsop County Sheriff's Office.
There are no additional suspects or victims and this appears to be an isolated incident. The suspect is being charged with Attempted Murder and will be lodged pending arraignment.
