The Sunset Empire Transportation District is recovering, paying off debt, and generally healthier as 2013 gets underway. The SETD board will meet January 24th to receive the audit report for the last year and hear a presentation on what's coming up this year for strategic priorities. SETD board meetings are open to the public and this one will be held at the Astoria Transit Center Conference room at 900 Marine Drive starting at 9:00am.
While "The Bus" is the most visible element of the transit district SETD provides a number of important services to the region including connector service to Columbia, Tillamook and Pacific counties, ADA Paratransit, the Northwest Ride Center Medicaid Brokerage. The brokerage is responsible for scheduling rides for Medicaid eligible clients to eligible appointments in Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook counties.
According to the SETD website The Bus fixed routes ridership runs to about 3,000 rides weekly
