The Astoria Rotary Club handed out nearly 200 dictionaries this week to fourth grade students and home schooled in Astoria and Knappa Schools for classwork and their own personal use. The books were purchased at cost by Astoria Rotary from the Dictionary Project. This Project, along with Rotary Clubs throughout the country, strive to provide dictionaries to every fourth grade student in the United States.  The Dictionary Project has provided 2,397,306 dictionaries this school year.  Locally, the books were handed out to students by Anita Schacher, Dictionary Project Chair and Denny Holmes of the Astoria Rotary Club.
