Minor land slide causes evacuation of Astoria homes

A minor landslide caused three houses to be voluntarily evacuated Wednesday afternoon.  What started as a tree falling resulted in an area of land shifting.  Other trees said to have since fallen as well.  The slide was located near the dead end of Duane and 5th St. near the area of the Clatsop County jail.  The public works department will bring in a Geotechnical Engineer to look at it.
