Astoria's Mayor Van Dusen wants everyone to know exactly what's coming.  He calls it the biggest, dirtiest construction project in Astoria's long history.

He's referring to the next phase of the years long, multi-million dollar CSO separation project that takes storm water run-off out of the city sewer system.  The 11th street project will involve several downtown streets and will include the total rebuild of 8th street from Commercial to Niagra and from curb to curb.  At the last council meeting City Manager Paul benoit noted the the design engineering was about 60% complete and that the firm working on the project had found some additional work that will be necessary to properly connect the new system.

The Mayor invites the public to the Monday city council meeting in a radio ad that will be broadcast on the stations of OMG radio saying that the city engineer has arragned for an expert to give a presentation on the project and it's scope.  While major work will be happening on 11th and 8th streets there will be other interconnecting streets involved leading to a new outfall on ninth street.  The city council meets at 7pm in city hall Monday December 17.
