State Route 4 between Cathlamet and Longview is scheduled to reopen by 4 p.m. today, Nov. 20.  The highway has been closed since 4 p.m. yesterday from just east of Cathlamet to the Germany Creek area (mileposts 36 to 48). A local detour is set up using Mill Creek, Beaver Creek and Elochoman Valley roads.  Yesterday's heavy rain brought rocks, tree branches and other debris down from slopes above SR 4, clogging culverts and causing water to back up onto the highway.  Washington State Department of Transportation crews have been working since first light to reopen the highway.  Crews are using two excavators and a vactor truck to clear the culverts and allow water to drain before reopening SR 4 to drivers.
