Now in it's second year the OMG Radio "Harvest Haul" helps stock the shelves in the Ilwaco and Ocean Park Washington food banks during some very tough times for Pacific County families. Great Northwest Federal Credit Union and Okie's Thriftway provide major support for the food drive and area businesses pitch in as drop off locations throughout the peninsula. Food drop-off bins are located at the credit union and Okies and also at Peninsula Pharmacies in Ilwaco, Long Beach and, Ocean Park; Boardwalk Quilts in Long Beach; Anchor Realty in Long Beach and Surfside/Ocean Park; Coastal Eyecare in Long Beach. This is truely a local community effort with Dennis Company providing the bins and local radio stations The Eagle 103.9 and KCRX 102.3 planning live remote broadcasts on the last big day for the food drive October 27th. To help direct efforts the food bank has issued a "Most Wanted List" of items they are always looking for in donations and that includes:
Chili
Soups
Tuna
Canned Chicken
Stews
Crackers
Breakfast Cereals
Canned vegetables
Peanut Butter
Ravioli
The food bank also accepts non-food items such as diapers, shampooand soap, tooth paste and brushes.
The food bank also welcomes cash donations and recently recieved a $1000.00 donation from Vince Williams Kia Dealership to assist the Harvest Haul cause.
