Clatsop County's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 7.7 percent inSeptember, essentially the same as the previous month, but lower than the year before(8.5%). It was lower than the statewide rate (8.7%) and about the same as the national rate(7.8%). Total employment in the county decreased by 66 from the previous month to19,856. The estimated number of unemployed people dropped by 198 to 1,321. The number ofunemployed this September was 269 fewer than one year before and 159 fewer peoplewere employed yielding a drop in the labor force of 428.
Columbia County's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 9.2 percent inSeptember, essentially unchanged from the previous month (9.5%), but lower thanthe year before (10.2%). The rate was higher than the statewide rate (8.7%) andthe national rate (7.8%). Total employment rose by 37 to 22,451 and thenumber of unemployed people dropped by 281 to 1,988. Total employment thisSeptember was 63 more than one year before and there were 383 fewer peopleunemployed this year yielding a drop in labor force of 320.
Tillamook County's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 8.3 percent inSeptember, essentially the same as the previous month (8.6%), but lower than theyear before (8.8%). It was about the same as the statewide rate (8.7%), but higher than thenational rate (7.8%). Total employment in the county fell by 201 from the previous month to11,834 and the estimated number of people unemployed dipped by 148 to 880. Comparedwith one year before, total employment fell by 304 and 169 fewer people were unemployedyielding a drop in the labor force of 473
