Tuesday afternoon around 4:30pm the Warrenton Fire Department crews responded to an address with reports of an owl struggling in a tree.  Rescue crews finding a Barn Owl helplessly tangled in fishing line up about 20 feet in a spruce tree.  Crews were able to safely remove the owl from the tree.  The owl's wing suffered minor injuries from its struggling in the finishing line.  The animal was transported to a wildlife sanctuary for release.  The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife website states that the Barn owl is a fairly common permanent resident in open country west of the Cascades.
