The Clatsop County board approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Shoreline Sanitary District regarding the district's planned construction of a 3.3-mile sewer line to connect to the City of Warrenton's wastewater treatment plant.
The district, which provides wastewater service to households in the Cullaby Lake area, is under an Oregon Department of Environmental Quality order to address discharge into the Skipanon River that exceeds state standards.
The agreement prohibits connections to the new sewer line between the district's service area and Warrenton.
The board also waived a $3,309 permit fee charged to the district for a land-use goal exception implemented by the county to allow district's project. State rules and the county's comprehensive plan prohibit the extension of sewer service outside of urban growth boundaries unless the county grants an exception
