The Oregon Emergency Management Association recognized Clatsop County’s Tiffany Brown for her work on the county’s new Emergency Operations Center.
Brown, emergency coordinator with the county Emergency Management Division, received the OEMA’s Member Award for Coordination Sept. 19 at the association’s annual conference in Gleneden Beach.
The award honors Brown’s efforts coordinating the many aspects of the EOC project, which involves the construction of a communications wing on Warrior Hall at Camp Rilea Armed Forces Training Center. The EOC and accompanying communications tower, funded with $521,000 in federal, state and county dollars, will provide a central communications point for local responses to man-made and natural emergencies.
The OEMA also recognized Brown for completing two advanced training programs.
“This is a great honor for Tiffany to be recognized by Oregon emergency management professionals for her diligent work in service to the citizens of Clatsop County,” Emergency Management Director Dean Perez said.
The Oregon Emergency Management Association is a statewide association of individuals in the emergency management profession.
