Three days of art, music and literary events will showcase the galleries and artists of Cannon Beach at the 25th annual Stormy Weather Arts Festival, November 2-4, 2012. And if it rains, or the wind blows, that’s just part of what makes this festival so memorable.



This popular coastal event highlights the creative talents of a wide range of artists, with a packed schedule that includes an art walk, art gallery receptions, photography exhibits, and much more. Cannon Beach shops, restaurants and galleries will also be hosting music, art and literary events throughout the weekend.


“The Quick Draw,” venue at Surfsand Resort is a yearly festival highlight. This fascinating event kicks off the weekend of activities on Friday, Nov. 2 as artists demonstrate their techniques, working for a full hour on a single painting, which will be finished and offered for sale during the weekend.  Each artist will also offer work that will be auctioned off Friday evening. Tickets forthis event are now on sale at the Cannon Beach Chamber office, or by calling 503-436-2623. The price is $55, or $99 for two, and includes heavy hors d’oeuvres and two drinks.


The “Spotlight Concert” on Saturday, Nov.3 will feature “An Evening with the Curtis Salgado Band”.  Salgado was named 2012 Male Soul Blues Artist of the Year. The concert will be held at the Coaster Theater and begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 and are also available through the Cannon Beach Chamber office.


This year’s commerative poster has been created by Jeffrey Hull, owner of Jeffrey Hull Gallery and one of the founders of the original Stormy Weather Arts Festival.
