The new Astoria high school field is closer to a reality.  Columbia Memorial Hospital announced it plans to use $5 million dollars of bond procedes from a total 31 million dollars worth of revenue bonds to fund the brand new sports complex, according to hospital CEO Erik Thorsen.  

Published reports indicate that if all goes as planned, Astoria high school will have the field completed by fall of 2013.  Thorsen explaining plans to establish parking spaces on John Warren field and the practice field.  The expansion of hospital facilities will not begin for 7 to 10 years.
