The Clatsop County Historical Society invites the entire community to help create a giant group photo at the Flavel House Museum this Friday at 2:30 pm.
In 1934 Patricia Flavel donated the mansion, built by her great grandfather Captain George Flavel, to the citizens of Clatsop County. Since that time the Flavel House has served the community first as offices for the Health Department and Red Cross during WWII, then as the first local history museum, and today it serves as one of the finest examples of Victorian period architecture in the Northwest.
This September 1st Patricia Flavel will celebrate her 100th birthday. In appreciation of the gift she gave the community so many years ago we would like to send her a birthday card with a photograph of the house today with as many thankful faces from the community as we can fit.
